This is an AC compressor clutch plate. This should be attached to my Passat’s AC compressor rather than on my desk. It came loose on my drive to work and rattled around half way on the shaft for part of the drive. Luckily it didn’t fall off and disappear.

The funny part is I just restored air conditioning to my wife’s Golf on Saturday. The work never ends.

I'm hoping it's as simple as putting a new bolt on and reattaching it.

Unfortunately its usually not that simple with A/C clutches. Just looked again on another search and Rock Auto has them by application. The number search alone was missleading. About $230 shipped. Used compressors are questionable and I’ve been screwed by going junk yard on those.

You might give a good look at the compressor and how it turns over. While an A/C clutch can certainly fail on their own, a grenaded A/C clutch can also be a symptom of a seized or in the process of seizing compressor.
